Atty. Warren Louis Martin, Jr. is a native of Edwards, Mississippi where he graduated from the Hinds County School District. He later graduated from Jackson State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science. Atty. Martin attended the University of Mississippi School of Law in Oxford, Mississippi where he earned a Juris Doctor degree. He started the law firm of Warren L. Martin, Jr. & Associates in Jackson, Mississippi and has been instrumental in developing “cause lawyering.”  In developing his legal career, Atty. Martin has received bar admissions with the Mississippi State Courts, U.S. District Court Northern District of Mississippi, U.S. Court Southern District of Mississippi, and the U.S. Court of Appeals 5th Circuit. As a practicing attorney, he currently holds membership with the American Bar Association, American Trial Lawyers Association, and the Mississippi Bar. Additionally, he is a member of the Magnolia Bar Association, Hinds County Bar Association, and Mississippi Trial Lawyers Association.

In addition to his academic and professional achievements, Atty. Martin and his brothers wrote their first book entitled, “Love, Faith, and Hope,” a collection of original poetry, short stories, and prose. Atty. Martin and his triplet brothers have been featured in several print publications including: Ebony, Jet, Black Issues in Higher Education, Money Magazine, The Clarion Ledger, The UM Lawyer, The Jacksonian, The Jackson Advocate, and the Mississippi Link.  In 2005, Atty. Martin and his brothers were featured on The Montel Williams Show. He and his brothers have also been interviewed on The Tavis Smiley Radio Show.  In 2007, Atty. Martin and his brothers were featured guests on The Oprah Winfrey Show. The community outreach arm of Atty. Martin’s law firm is a weekly television commercial entitled, “The Martin Minute”, which is broadcast each Monday during the 6 p.m. newscast on WLBT Channel 3. He uses this platform to highlight positive individuals and groups which exemplify Christ’s commandment that we love one another and give. 

Atty. Martin attends Greater Mt. Calvary M.B. Church in Jackson, Mississippi where he serves on the Board of Deacons and is a member of the Men’s Brotherhood ministry.  Atty. Martin has received numerous awards both locally and nationally for his outstanding achievements in the legal field and serving his community. He has been honored as the Humanitarian of the Year by the JSU National Alumni Association, Pro Bono Lawyer of the Year by the Mississippi Volunteer Lawyers Project and has been recognized by the Mississippi Center for Justice for his efforts to create a better society. Atty. Martin is also a renowned speaker who delivers inspirational messages of faith, hope, and love in the community and throughout the nation.  He is married to Dr. Ericka O. Martin and they have two beautiful children:  Erin Olivia Martin and Warren Louis Martin, III.  He professes a love for Jesus Christ and lives a Christ centered existence.  Atty. Martin lives by the scripture, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”
